The Travis Manion Foundation will be traveling to Jonesville, Virginia for a week-long service expedition, October 3 - 9, 2026. The Expedition is exclusively open to Immediate Family Members of Fallen Military.

There is no cost to attend this incredible opportunity, but we do ask that all applicants be 18 years of age and at least 24 months out from their loss. Prior engagement with TMF is not required to apply, but future engagement is encouraged!

To be considered for the Service Expedition to Virginia, please submit your application from July 20 - July 31, 2026.

VIRGINIA EXPEDITION OVERVIEW:

Travis Manion Foundation will travel to Jonesville, Virginia, for a week-long Expedition where participants will focus on personal character and leadership development while serving Central Appalachia in honor of their fallen hero. Through shared experiences of service, reflection, and teamwork, participants will have opportunities for healing through connection, empowerment, and helping others in need.

Participants will create a lasting impact while partnering with the Appalachia Service Project (ASP), an organization dedicated to improving housing conditions and bringing hope to families throughout Central Appalachia. Through volunteer home repair and replacement projects, participants will help create safer homes for local families while making a meaningful difference in the community. The main goal of working with ASP will be to make homes “warmer, safer, and drier”.

The service projects and team-building activities will require participants to work outdoors for several hours each day.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Participants will stay in shared, bunk-style lodging throughout the Expedition. Rooms will be assigned by gender and will house up to five participants per room. Bathroom facilities are communal and include shared restrooms and individual shower stalls. We want all participants to have a clear understanding of the lodging arrangements before applying for the Expedition.

All participants selected for this Expedition will attend a pre-trip mandatory virtual Zoom session with the group, where participants and TMF staff can begin building relationships and prepare for the Expedition. There will also be a post-expedition zoom where participants will explore ways to stay involved with TMF. Please only apply if you are willing to participate in all components of this expedition.
