New NFL Documentary Highlights Lane Johnson’s Commitment to Veterans Through Travis Manion Foundation
In a new documentary, released as part of the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats initiative, Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson reflects on how the mission of Travis Manion Foundation has inspired him on and off the field.
Lane has a long family history of military service and a deep commitment to our nation’s veterans. Through his trainer, a Marine veteran, Lane was introduced to Travis Manion Foundation, which opened the door for him to meet with surviving families and veterans who continue to serve their communities in meaningful ways. Those conversations helped Lane confront the performance anxiety he was experiencing at the time and offered him a new perspective on service, sacrifice, and resilience. As he listened to their stories, he realized something profound: many veterans and surviving family members aren’t looking for sympathy — they are looking for purpose, connection, and a chance to serve again.
This documentary was made possible through TMF partner Stand Together and their work with the NFL’s It Takes All of Us campaign. Stand Together works closely with NFL players to amplify stories of community impact and support causes they believe in. Through My Cause My Cleats, they are helping players like Lane accelerate their efforts and shine a spotlight on organizations, like TMF, whose work changes lives.
The famous words that 1st Lt. Travis Manion, USMC, who died in Iraq protecting his fellow Marines, spoke before his final deployment continue to inspire Lane: “If Not Me, Then Who…” Watch the documentary by clicking the image below.
